Whosoever Will

Yesterday, I received Whosoever Will in my college mailbox. Dr. David Allen, Dean of Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, co-edited the book and was gracious to send me a copy after coming across a previous post on this blog.

Whosoever Will is a product of the John 3:16 Conference (visit Timmy Brister’s blog for summary of conference) which was held in 2008 at Johnny Hunt’s FBC Woodstock. The conference, billed as a “biblical and theological assessment of and response to five-point Calvinism,” was interesting to say the least. I will withhold commentary until I see the video of the conference in its entirety (which at a cost of $55 via the Jerry Vines ministry website I doubt I will be watching the whole DVD set unless it too shows up in my college mailbox). The conference had several well known SBC men speaking including Drs: Johnny Hunt, Paige Patterson, Richard Land, David Allen, Steve Lemke, Ken Keathley, and Charles Stanley.

I look forward to reading the book and, hopefully, being challenged on the Doctrines of Grace that I see so clearly evident in God’s Word. I appreciate Dr. Allen sending me the book and his gracious words.
